Favorite Mamma Recipes
My mamma’s pound cake recipe
2 sticks of butter
1 2/3 cups sugar
5 eggs
2 cups flour – sifted
1 t. vanilla
Bake at 300° for 1 hour 10 minutes
Soften butter and set out eggs to room temperature. Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each egg. Add flour. Add vanilla last. Pour into a well greased bundt pan.

That sounds super yummy. Since you have a theme of butter, let me find my mom’s butter cookie recipe that you put a thumbprint of raspberry jam in. I made these cookies every year for the holidays with my mom. Now I have to make the cookies without my mom. Miss ya mom!

You know, my most vivid memory of my mamma’s pound cake is when she made the pound cake without me home. When I would get home the cake beaters and bowl would be in the refrigerator waiting for me! 🙂 Thanks for replying, Kim, and sharing your baking memory with your mom.
